About Amartya

I am a seasoned Physics & Maths tutor, with over 13 years of high school, and college-level tutoring experience.

During my Ph.D. in physics from UC Riverside, I had the amazing opportunity to teach for 6 years, students from freshman to senior years (Eng. and Life Sc. tracks), on a multitude of courses such as Calculus, Intro to Physics, etc. Notably, I have received the Best TA of the Year - Award on 4 occasions!

But my teaching experience goes even beyond just teaching college students! Having taught high school students for over 4 years on physics, chemistry, and mathematics, my students not only aced their course grades and joined elite universities, but having so enjoyed their lessons, proceeded to elect them as their majors as well!

About the lesson

As a tutor, I believe in using a personalized and collaborative approach to teaching. This means that I work closely with each student to understand their individual learning style and needs, and tailor my teaching methods and techniques accordingly.

In a typical lesson, I start by discussing the topic or concept at hand with the student, asking questions to gauge their understanding and identify any gaps in their knowledge. Then, I provide clear and concise explanations of the material, using examples and real-world applications to help the student better understand and retain the information.

Throughout the lesson, I encourage active participation and engagement from the student, asking them to solve problems and discuss the material with me. This helps to reinforce the concepts and allows the student to apply what they have learned in a practical setting.

One of the things that set me apart as a tutor is my ability to break down complex concepts and make them accessible to students of all abilities. I have a deep understanding of the subject matter and am able to explain it in a way that is easy for students to understand. Additionally, I am patient and understanding, and I am committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

My maths and physics-based lessons are intended for middle and high school students. Furthermore, I am also providing AP-level tutoring on the above 2 subjects.
