About Avianna

I've always had a love for anything science-related for as long as I remember, but I have just as much interest in language and music. From watching Bill Nye The Science Guy videos in my elementary science class to eventually physically applying what I learned over the years to my experiments to performing in concerts and writing competitions, makes me truly want to share and spread the excitement that a multifaceted education has to offer. If I can't do that, at least I can help you pass your tests/classes!

I've been tutoring students of all ages and levels since 2013. I have about a 96% success rate with my students since I've integrated personalized interest-based, hands-on lesson plans when tutoring in 2017. During that time frame, I was a teacher's assistant and was trained in lesson plan preparation, retention focus, self-study, and note-taking the prep. (ex. Cornell notes)

About the lesson

As someone who's been tutored all their life, I often tended to have problems "connecting" with the course that was being taught unless I was able to relate to it. In turn, I focus on what my student or tutee may have an interest in and I make that the foundation of how I being their personalized lessons, which is why my lessons are perfect for any degree, level, class, etc. For example, if the student that I'm tutoring has an interest in the culinary arts and I'm in the process of tutoring them in chemistry I would make references to recipes and how the same everyday actions of preparing a meal can be compared to that of the steps of an experiment or when determining the formula of a compound!

My lessons are based on students' schedules and their direct needs to target exactly what they need help in: (ie. If a student has an upcoming test/exam then lessons are usually 1-2+ weeks long or for general tutoring 1-4+ weeks)
Music Lessons:

-Music appreciation, traditional composer knowledge

-Note/Scale reading and symbol identification

-Beat counting, tuning, hand placement

-Basic to advanced song practice
