About Beatrice
I've been passionate about music performance, composition, and education for as long as I can remember and have been working in the field for over 15 years.
I completed my first Master’s in Piano Performance at McGill University in Montreal, after which I taught piano full-time and also worked as a freelance classical pianist. During this time I started dabbling in music composition and production, and got more and more obsessed with it over time, which eventually lead to me earning a second Master’s in Composing for Film and TV from the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield.
I remember starting out as a music producer, feeling totally overwhelmed by music technology. I know how intimidating that world can seem—especially for women, who are still underrepresented in the field. That’s why I’m passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive space for beginners, and helping others build confidence with tools like Logic Pro, working with MIDI, using samplers, music mixing and effects, and the fundamentals of music technology and composition. Everyone deserves access to this creative world, no matter their background or experience level.
I also continue to love working with traditional piano students. My teaching style focuses not just on playing the notes, but on truly understanding the music. I emphasise music theory, ear training, and pattern recognition from the start, helping students analyse what they're playing and grasp the underlying structure. Focusing on these skills supports improvisation, composition, and a deeper understanding of the keyboard.
Whether you're learning your very first notes, exploring advanced classical repertoire, or delving into the world of music production and composing for film, I aim to give my students the tools to be creative, confident, and well-rounded musicians.
