About Zimo

Hi, I’m Zimo, a Year 10 student and passionate musician with a strong interest in flute and music. I am an AMEB Grade 8 flutist and currently play as Principal Flute in the Melbourne Grammar Symphony Orchestra, giving me experience both as an individual musician and as part of a large ensemble.

I enjoy sharing my passion for music with others and helping students develop their confidence and skills. I’m patient, approachable, and believe that lessons should be both productive and enjoyable. I like adapting my teaching to each student, whether they are just starting out, working towards an exam, or looking to improve their playing.

Outside of music, I enjoy competitive swimming, staying active, and learning new things. I hope to help students develop strong musical foundations while also discovering the enjoyment and creativity that comes with playing the flute.

About the lesson

I offer personalised flute lessons for beginner and developing musicians, tailored to each student’s ability, interests and goals. As an AMEB Grade 8 flutist and Principal Flute of the Melbourne Grammar School Symphony Orchestra, I have developed strong experience in both individual playing and ensemble performance.

Lessons can cover fundamental skills such as posture, breathing, embouchure, tone production, articulation and finger technique, as well as scales, sight-reading, music theory and repertoire. I can also help students prepare for AMEB exams, school performances, auditions and other musical opportunities.

Whether you are completely new to the flute, looking to improve your technique, preparing for an assessment or simply wanting to enjoy playing music, I aim to make every lesson engaging and rewarding.

I take a patient and encouraging approach, adapting lessons to each student's learning style and pace. My goal is to help students build strong technical foundations, become confident performers and develop a genuine enjoyment of music.
