About Sheldon
I have been a drummer my whole life. At 4 years old I would lay out pots and pans on the kitchen floor and smash wooden spoons in search of new sounds and rhythms. Later I studied with various private instructors over 15 years and then at VCC School of Music for performance in jazz/contemporary drumming. With over a decade of experience teaching private and group lessons I am always excited to take on new students and learn through the individual's perspective and taste in music. My main goal as a teacher is to guide you through your journey as a musician, build your confidence, find your own voice and teach you the tools you need to forge your own path.

With my new drum book, "Crash! Boom! Pow!" Learning to Play Drums, my lessons are engaging and fun! By prioritizing concepts that help you develop your technique, ear training, limb independence, rudiments, reading and writing, I will show you how to listen deeper and develop your own voice behind a drum kit.

Perfect! Sheldon is warm and inviting in his approach. He has a number of tools at his disposal and comes to lessons prepared. He uncovered my interest in learning to read music and is approaching our lessons with that secondary purpose close at hand.
