About Maxine
I have been playing music for about 18 years now. I started playing when I was 7 years old, started a band when I was 9, and have been playing ever since then. I've played with some amazing musicians in San Diego, Nashville, and Los Angeles in a variety of different genres.
I love blues music, but I also love playing metal, funk, punk, shoegaze, indie, etc. Anything with an interesting guitar idea I love to pick up and learn
I also studied production at Belmont University in Nashville, TN where I learned how to produce in programs like Logic or Ableton and got to work at some amazing studios like Starstruck Entertainment

When starting lessons I typically like to find out what kind of music you like and structure our future lessons around that
I also love to teach improvising so that no matter what genre you're playing in, you have the ability to come up with lead parts or melodies in real time
I've been improvising with guitar for most of my playing history, learning from some of the best blues musicians in Southern California and I love sharing that knowledge with others
These lessons are from beginner to advanced students. I teach anyone who is trying to pick up the instrument for the first time, to someone who's been playing for years and wants to up their skills even more
