Professional musician, 45 years stage and recording experience, willing to teach guitar (various styles) to interested students.

We had our first meeting today, July 8, 2026. She is a wonderfully friendly person, very new at the guitar. I had books ready for various skill levels, and today we concentrated on technique: both right and left hand, as well as different ways to hold the guitar comfortably. We reviewed some of the different kinds of music Cheryl enjoyed, and determined upon some John Prine. Accordingly, we covered the 3 major chords in a sing we agreed upon, went over the chords, concentrating on technique. At the end of the day I drew the 3 out and Cheryl departed with learning the 3 chords as homework. Cheryl is a fast study and an excellent student. She is motivated and receptive and friendly, and I believe we are a good match for each other.
