About Isaac

Hi! I'm Isaac, a 21-year-old professional musician.

I was classically trained until the age of 18 and now study a wide range of popular styles as part of my degree at the world-renowned Royal Northern College of Music, combining strong technical foundations with creative approaches to playing and improvisation.

I have performed at venues across the UK and the world, including Bridgewater Hall, where I played with three gospel choirs and an original member of Amy Winehouse’s band.

Also, in November 2025, I was selected out of the pianists on my course to work at an international festival in Shanghai, China, mentoring and performing with children from schools across Asia. This was an enriching experience that taught me valuable lessons about teaching and reinforced my passion for helping students grow. This culminated in a concert at the Shanghai Symphony Hall

Through my conservatoire training, I’ve had the opportunity to meet and learn from leading international musicians, including Morris Pleasure (Michael Jackson), Dominic Miller (Sting, Phil Collins), and Robert “Sput” Searight (Herbie Hancock, Kendrick Lamar). I also work as a student mentor on the RNCM Young Artists Programme, supporting and inspiring developing musicians.

I love helping my students develop a genuine love of playing music, and I bring the same energy and passion to teaching that I do to performing. I aim to help all of them foster a lifelong love of playing music

About the lesson

My approach to teaching

I take a practical, student-focused approach, helping players develop strong harmonic understanding, improvisation skills, and musical confidence. Lessons are tailored to each student and focus on applying theory directly to real music in styles such as jazz, gospel, funk, and pop.

I also support more advanced students with preparation for applications to prestigious music courses, offering guidance on repertoire, technique, and overall musicianship.

Lessons typically last 30–60 minutes and are suitable for beginners through to advanced players of all ages

My aim is to help students become versatile musicians who understand what they play and enjoy the learning process.
