Ever since I was 15 years old, I have wanted nothing more than to share music with others. Through this pursuit, I hope I can show you just how much music can impact your life, especially when it comes to playing piano!
In our trial lesson, we can explore which composer's music you may resonate more with, perhaps any genres where you may be slightly more curious in (i.e. Chopin Mazurkas or Bach Preludes and Fugues) or you may even be so bold as to want to go straight to work with a certain piece you have prepared and are eager to take to the next level.
However, one thing must be made clear. Whatever we work on together, I stress of paramount importance that I value one thing more sacred than any other. Art.
In our lessons, art is to be nurtured. We are not just moving our fingers and making sounds, making sure to follow every detailed instruction on the music score until we are able to transcribe an exact copy on a blank sheet of paper. Our duty as musicians, regardless of whether one has just touched a piano for the first time or pleases a crowd of two thousand people in one evening for a living - is to serve art. I want to hear the gallop of the horses in Schumann's First Piano Sonata and feel my soul crushed in the 'Andante' of Brahms' Second Piano Concerto. Notes without meaning are simply notes without meaning.
Our vision must consume thinkers, our story has to captivate listeners and above all, our music making must enlighten others.
My goal for all my students is to encourage them to search for the meaning as to why they play piano. Once that hurdle has been jumped over, a world of inspiration invites them to carry their story, their journey, their originality, the human being that they are every day to the stage where it has a chance to shine.

Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I’ve had a fantastic experience learning piano with Sean. He is incredibly knowledgeable and has a deep understanding of both technique and musical expression. What really stands out is how friendly and approachable he is, creating an environment where I feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at my own pace.
The lessons are very detailed and thoughtfully structured, ensuring that each musical idea is fully understood before moving on. Sean takes the time to explain not just how to play something, but why it works, which has greatly enhanced my overall musicianship.
Since starting lessons with Sean, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my playing and I always leave feeling motivated and inspired. I would highly recommend Sean to anyone looking for a supportive, skilled and dedicated piano teacher. One of the best teachers that I have ever learned from. Sean understood all my problems from the very beginning in the first lesson and we step by step built up from there. And in one year of progress from being an absolute beginner, I can now play Chopin's Nocturne Op.55 No.2 and Liszt Un Sospiro.
