About Julian
I am a professional producer and mix engineer with over a decade of experience writing, recording and producing music for artists and soundtracks. Music I have written has been played on all major UK radio stations, international TV and tracks I have produced have been released around the world. Like a lot of people, I started simply in my bedroom alongside a day job, and now I work from my own studio in East London.
I love what I do, I like meeting new musicians, and I enjoy teaching as I find I often take away a new perspective as well! I previously taught at Garnish international music production school, and for the last five years have taught privately online helping musicians from San Francisco to Singapore.

Would you like to learn how to produce and mix your music in Logic Pro X?
I have 5 years of experience teaching both privately and in person for an international music production school. I also teach on the platform AirGigs, on which I am the number one ranked music production teacher with 50+ 5 star reviews.
If your goal is to develop your music making skills, I can help you with the following things regardless of genre...
Beginner / Intermediate
- Introduction to Logic Pro X
- Tips, tricks and keyboard shortcuts
- Recording vocals or instruments
- Composition and arrangement
- Microphone types and techniques
- Programming MIDI and VSTs
- Making beats
- Sampling & Synthesis
- Understanding EQ and compression
- How and when to use different plugins
- Editing and tuning vocals
- Creating interesting and exciting effects
- Basic mixing concepts
- Setting up your home studio
Advanced (any DAW)
- Coaching and workflow
- Feedback on productions
- Advanced sound design / FX
- Advanced mixing techniques
- Mix bus processing and mastering
The number one conversation I have with people recently is about spending money on plugins you can't use. If you don't understand how to use a compressor (which is fine!) buying an expensive emulation of a famous piece of hardware won't help you. Your goal is to create, so use that money to develop your skills so that you can use any compressor to enhance your music :)
Lessons can be held via Zoom, which works really well as we can share screens and audio, as well as use remote control so I can do demos on your machine. Alternatively we can have our session at my studio, which is a 2 minute walk from Broadway Market and a 10 minute walk from Bethnal Green tube station. Lastly, if you would like the session to be conducted at your home studio, I can travel to you.

“Julian is a genius of an engineer as well as an expert on Logic ProX. There is no question that he doesn’t have an answer for. I am not only learning all the ins & outs of Logic, but he is teaching me a ton about engineering, including techniques & tricks only the pro guys know about. Julian allows me to video our sessions so I can type out the notes for myself afterwards. I have tried studying with other people and have gotten absolutely nowhere. Due to his amazing patience and understanding I am actually getting it, And I am most grateful!”
Julian is an unbelievable tutor and I am so happy to have come across him. When I started getting tutored by him I knew literally nothing about music production, played no instruments, and knew no music theory. 2 years later and I just put out my second single thanks to Julian’s guidance. Not only is Julian incredibly knowledgable but he is also a very talented tutor. He gauges my level of knowledge and finds ways of relating music to other hobbies and areas of knowledge I have to make it make sense to me. Pair that with being incredibly helpful, patient, and encouraging and you could not wish for a better tutor.
