About AZ
I teach tombak with a focus on clear technique, steady rhythm, and the expressive sound of Persian music. I take teaching seriously: I listen closely to each student’s playing, explain what needs work in practical terms, and make sure there is a clear purpose behind every exercise.
My classes are a place to ask questions and develop your skills at a pace that works for you. Whether you are beginning with your first rhythm or refining the way you play, I will give your goals careful attention and help you build a solid foundation.

I teach tombak through listening, playing, and understanding rhythm. My goal is to help you make music with the instrument, not just memorize hand movements.
In a typical lesson, we begin by reviewing a rhythm you’ve practiced. I demonstrate a new sound or technique, we play it together at a comfortable speed, and then you try it on your own. We finish by using it in a short musical pattern. I give you specific feedback on your hand movement, sound, and timing, along with a clear exercise to practice before our next lesson.
What makes my approach personal is that we work with the sound you actually produce. If a rhythm feels difficult, we break it down, find where the difficulty begins, and rebuild it step by step. As your skills grow, we connect your playing to the rhythms and musical character of Persian music.
Lessons are suited to complete beginners and to tombak players who want to strengthen their technique, timing, and musical expression. The pace and exercises are adjusted to your experience and goals.
