About Benjamin

I’m a professional drummer, playing many different style gigs regularly around NYC, the US and internationally. I maintain a private teaching studio in Williamsburg near the Bedford L train with two drum sets side by side to play alongside each other and learn through musical conversation. I’ve traveled extensively around the world learning aural musical traditions from NYC jazz masters to studying across Africa, Brazil and the Americas to the Caribbean. I’d love to pass on my passion for world musics and groove to my students.

About the lesson

I teach all ages students drums / percussion and musicality in three sections every lesson. Get precision touch with hands exercises focusing on rudiments and reading, improve coordination with reading and grooves focused on improving limb control and polyrhythmic feel, play along with your favorite bands and learn the drum parts side by side with me, learning to transcribe and listen carefully to help eventually understand and learn any drum part.
