About Paige
I am a violin tutor with 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Orchestral Studies. I have worked with over 150 students from young beginners to advancing intermediate and advanced players. My teaching covers bowing technique, vibrato, intonation, phrasing, tone development, and musical expression across classical and contemporary styles. I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity examinations and offer orchestral preparation for students joining school and community ensembles. My approach is warm, structured, and always adapted to each student's individual learning pace and musical goals. I use video review, tuning apps, and backing tracks to make lessons practical and genuinely musically engaging. Let me help you develop a strong violin technique and a real love of music.

My violin lessons are structured to develop strong healthy technique and genuine musical understanding from the very first lesson together. Every session starts with posture and bow hold checks followed by a warm-up of scales and bowing exercises to prepare body and mind for productive practice. I focus strongly on bow technique from the earliest stages of learning because it most directly impacts tone quality and musical expression at every level of playing. Intonation is developed through systematic scale work, careful listening, and consistent use of tuning technology to give students objective clear reference points for their pitch. Exam students follow the required syllabus with regular mock assessments and detailed feedback on all components including scales, pieces, sight-reading, and aural tests. Advanced students develop shifting, vibrato depth and consistency, double stopping, and expressive interpretative skills. Backing tracks develop rhythm awareness and ensemble sensitivity throughout every lesson. For students joining orchestras I provide sight-reading coaching and ensemble skills development. Clear specific feedback after every performance gives students actionable goals. My goal is for every student to develop a confident technique and genuine lasting love of the violin.
