About Maeve

I have been teaching violin for over twenty years and have a wealth of experience to offer both children and adults as they reach their potential and gain huge enjoyment from making beautiful music. I was a member of the London Philharmonic in the 1990s and started teaching when my children were young. I have continued to play at the highest levels and this influences my teaching, as I can inspire pupils with my playing. Many of my pupils have gained distinctions for Grade exams, won prizes, been awarded scholarships to private schools, and several have been offered places in music conservatoires. My adult pupils enjoy learning repertoire that they love, and many take part in chamber groups and orchestras. I aim to inspire all my pupils to love playing music as much as I do!

About the lesson

I offer inspiring violin lessons to children and adults, adapting my teaching to the learning styles of each individual student. I set up strong technical foundations which enable students to fulfil their potential on the violin and enjoy playing the music they love. Lessons are between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the level of the student. Over the past twenty years I have taught every level and age of learner, and have gained a wealth of experience in helping students find solutions to various issues. Alongside teaching violin and viola, I also continue to play professionally as Musical Director of the Corelli Ensemble and first violin in the London Philharmonic.
