About Heidi

Professional, Experienced & Supportive Vocal Coaching

When you choose a vocal coach, you want to know you’re learning from someone with real experience, professional standards, and a genuine commitment to helping you succeed.

I bring over 30 years of experience as a professional vocalist, touring artist, songwriter, performer, music educator and vocal coach. My career has given me extensive real-world experience on stage, in rehearsals, in the studio, on tour and within the Canadian music industry.

I understand that every student walks through the door with different goals. Some want to sing professionally. Some are preparing for auditions or performances. Others want to strengthen their technique, rebuild their confidence or simply experience the joy of singing.

My lessons are professional, prepared, encouraging and judgment-free. I create a comfortable environment where students of all ages and experience levels can learn at their own pace while still being challenged to grow.

With Modern Voice, we work on more than simply singing the right notes. I help students develop healthy vocal technique, breath support, pitch, range, tone, phrasing, interpretation, microphone skills, stage presence and performance confidence.

As an active professional performer, I also bring something that can't be learned from a textbook: decades of practical stage and industry experience.

You will be treated with respect, patience and professionalism, whether you're singing for the very first time or preparing to step onto a professional stage.

Your voice is personal. Your goals are your own. My job is to give you the tools, guidance and confidence to discover what your voice can really do.

Whether you sing for the love of it, want to build confidence, are getting your voice back in shape, or are working toward auditions, performances or professional goals, I’ll meet you where you are and help you move forward.

I’m a professional touring vocalist, award-winning artist, songwriter and vocal coach with over 30 years of experience performing, teaching and working in the Canadian music industry. I have also been an Educator in the school system, working with K to * students.

My approach to Modern Voice is practical, encouraging and built around YOU. We work with the music you love while developing healthy technique and a voice that sounds authentically like you.

Lessons can include vocal technique, breath support, pitch, range, strength, contemporary styling, phrasing, song interpretation, microphone technique, stage presence, confidence and performance preparation.

I coach pop, rock, country, blues, soul, gospel, musicals and contemporary styles, from beginners discovering their voices to experienced singers wanting to sharpen their skills.

You don’t have to dream of becoming a professional singer to benefit from professional coaching.
