About Jennifer
I am a supportive and enthusiastic Psychology tutor, committed to improving students’ subject knowledge and exam confidence. I have recently completed my Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience degree at The University of Nottingham, during which I successfully tutored multiple A Level Psychology students alongside my studies. I will be beginning my Psychology Teacher Training in September 2026 to progress my career in education and will be continuing to tutor throughout my PGCE.
Since I attained an A* in A Level Psychology in 2022, my tutoring has enabled me to maintain up-to-date knowledge about the skills required to succeed in Psychology A Level. I can provide guidance on crucial exam technique as well as in-depth knowledge on a broad range of topics. Additionally, I enjoy sparking curiosity about Psychology and initiating thought about how topics can relate to the real world.
Prior to professional tutoring, which I have now been regularly doing for over three years, I informally tutored friends and family at GCSE level, providing insight and knowledge from a student perspective. Other previous teaching experience of mine includes working as a horse riding instructor at my local riding stables, which I did for two years. I taught a wide range of ages and abilities which sparked my interest in teaching and mentoring young learners. Other relevant experiences include working in a ski school, during my gap year, in which one of my roles was to support children who needed a break from skiing with the aim of getting them back outside.
In my free time, I enjoy attending concerts, playing piano, and spending time with my horse. At university, I was the President of the Equestrian Club and along with my committee, achieved our University Inclusive Sport and Community Engagement awards. I consider myself dedicated to supporting learners and building confidence academically and beyond.

I consider myself a flexible tutor and understand the importance of structuring lessons appropriately to individual learner needs. I aim to focus the lesson on area(s) the learner feels less confident in, providing tasks to further knowledge as well as practice questions for consolidation and exam technique. Beyond sessions, I can provide comprehensive feedback on student work and guidance on finding revision techniques which suit you.
I am happy to provide guidance for any exam board, however I have most experience with the AQA board. Therefore, I consider myself to specialise in tutoring students doing the AQA board as this is where a lot of my specific exam technique knowledge lies.
