About Larissa

Hi, I’m Larissa! I’m a Psychology graduate with a genuine interest in the subject and in helping students understand it more clearly.

I’m particularly interested in how people learn, including how neurodivergent students may process information differently. This has shaped my approach to teaching, and I enjoy adapting explanations and study techniques to suit each student.

I have studied Psychology at A-level and university level, and I’m familiar with both the AQA and Edexcel specifications. I also understand how difficult it can be to balance studying with a busy schedule, so I can help you develop an efficient study plan to prepare for your exams.

I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and working through topics at their own pace.

Outside of Psychology, I enjoy reading, learning languages and spending time with my animals. I’d be happy to help you build your confidence, understand the subject beyond just memorisation and help you prepare effectively for your exams.

About the lesson

Every lesson is usually 60 minutes, but I can adapt the length and pace depending on your needs and what you need to focus on.

I have a master's in Psychology and experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Psychology. My lessons are suitable for students who want to build their knowledge, prepare for exams, improve their confidence, or get extra help with particular topics they are finding difficult.

Each lesson begins by finding out what you already know and can remember about the topic. We’ll use a few simple questions to see what you understand, what you’re confident with and where there might be gaps. There’s no pressure to get everything right, it simply helps me work out where to start and what you need from the lesson.

From there, we’ll work together to fill in any gaps and make sure the topic really makes sense to you. This might mean talking through something step-by-step, using diagrams and visual explanations, working through examples, or relating Psychology to real-life experiences.

Once we’ve worked through the topic, we’ll practise what you’ve learned with some simple questions and then move on to exam-style questions. We’ll look at not just what the answer is, but how to approach different types of exam questions and how to structure your answers.

At the end of each lesson, I’ll give you some personalised study suggestions, including revision activities and study tips that are useful for the particular topic we’ve covered. This gives you something practical to work on between lessons and helps you keep building your knowledge.

My aim is for you to leave every lesson feeling like you understand Psychology a little better, feel more confident about the subject, and know exactly what you can do next to keep improving.
