About the lesson

Hello! My name is Wenzel, and I am a graduate student in Experimental Psychology with a 4.00 GPA. As a first-generation college student, I understand firsthand how challenging academic systems, standardized tests, and complex coursework can feel—especially without built-in guidance. This background has shaped my approach to tutoring: clear, supportive, and focused on helping students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize it.

I have strong training in psychology, research methods, and statistics, including hands-on experience using SPSS for data analysis, interpretation, and reporting. I help students with psychology coursework at the high school and college level, including research papers, understanding experimental design, statistics concepts, and navigating SPSS assignments step by step. I also tutor GRE verbal reasoning and ACT reading and English, focusing on strategy, reading comprehension, vocabulary in context, grammar, and test-taking skills. While I do not emphasize test scores, I specialize in teaching students how to approach questions, manage time, and build confidence—skills that often matter more than raw scores.

My tutoring style is patient, individualized, and collaborative. I work one-on-one with students to identify where they feel stuck, explain concepts in accessible language, and practice together until they feel confident working independently. I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is to help students not only succeed academically, but also feel empowered in their ability to learn and problem-solve.
