With several years of experience teaching French across a range of levels and having led a successful French department in a London secondary school, I bring both expertise and commitment to every lesson. I have supported learners preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations, delivered targeted intervention programmes, and helped students significantly exceed their expected grades. My international teaching experience in France, Spain and Brazil has strengthened my ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs, ensuring that each student feels supported and motivated. About the lesson

I believe that language learning should be both structured and enjoyable. My approach focuses on building confidence through clear explanations, consistent practice, and engaging activities that help students connect French to real-life situations. I use a mix of communicative methods, spaced repetition, exam-focused strategies, and personalised scaffolding to ensure that each learner progresses at a pace that suits them. My lessons typically combine vocabulary building, grammar in context, pronunciation work, and creative speaking and writing tasks. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although I can adapt the length depending on the learner’s needs and age. For younger children, this might include shorter, highly interactive activities, songs, or games to hold their attention. For older students, sessions often focus more on exam techniques, targeted feedback, and high-level language practice. I have over five years of experience teaching French and Spanish in the UK education system, including in my role as Head of French at a London secondary school. I have taught GCSE and A-Level French, run successful intervention programmes for Year 11 and Year 12 students, and have extensive experience tutoring privately. One of my recent Year 11 students, for example, was initially targeted a grade 6 and went on to achieve a grade 8 in their GCSE examination. My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults at all levels, from complete beginners to A-Level or equivalent. I adapt my teaching style depending on the learner’s age, goals, and learning preferences, ensuring that every lesson is supportive, motivating, and tailored to the individual.
