About Varun
I am a qualified engineer with a Master’s degree in Smart, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, a programme focused on machine learning, automated control, communication systems and intelligent vehicles. I’m currently building my own omni-directional robot (OmniBot) from the ground up and I want to use this real project to teach your child modern robotics and AI in a clear, practical way.
Who I am
Master’s graduate in smart, connected and autonomous vehicles, with training in machine learning, control systems and embedded software for intelligent vehicles.
Robotics engineer actively developing an OmniBot that can move in any direction using special wheel arrangements, advanced motor control and sensor fusion.
Passionate about teaching and currently building real robots while I look for my next engineering role, so I have time to give your child personalised attention.

What I’m working on (OmniBot)
My OmniBot is an omni-directional mobile robot with four independently controlled wheels that allow smooth motion forwards, sideways, diagonally and rotation on the spot, ideal for tight spaces. It uses multiple sensors and cameras to perceive its environment and is designed to be controlled end-to-end by AI models, similar in concept to how self-driving vehicles make decisions.
I bring all of this live into the lesson: your child sees the real robot, understands how the wheels, motors and sensors work together, and then writes or modifies code that directly affects its behaviour.
What your child can learn with me
Depending on age and level, I can teach:
Core robotics foundations: how robots move, how wheels and motors are controlled, and how omni-directional robots achieve motion in any direction.
Sensors and perception: how distance sensors and cameras help robots detect obstacles and navigate safely.
Coding for robots: structured introductions to programming logic and control (from simple commands up to more advanced control strategies).
Smart and autonomous behaviour: basic ideas behind self-driving vehicles, decision-making from sensor data, and how AI can map camera input to robot actions.
Project thinking: how to design, test and improve a robotics project like OmniBot step by step, just as we do in industry and research.
I can work with my own robot setup, with your child’s existing kit (any brand), or a mix of both to reinforce concepts.
Why this is valuable for parents
Your child is guided by a real engineer trained specifically in intelligent and autonomous vehicles, not just a hobbyist.
They see how school maths, physics and computing turn into real-world robots they can watch move and react.
Lessons build confidence, problem-solving and creativity – skills that are useful far beyond robotics.
If desired, I can help them work towards a tangible outcome: a small project, a demo video, or a presentation they can show at school or in a portfolio.
Lesson format
1-to-1 or small-group online/in-person lessons.
Content tailored for both complete beginners and advanced teens who want to go deeper into robotics and smart vehicles.
If you want your child to learn robotics and AI from someone who is actually designing and building intelligent robots right now, feel free to contact me. I’ll be happy to discuss their level and design a custom path based on my OmniBot and my background in smart autonomous vehicles.
