About Katie

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated London-based languages tutor looking to help those requiring tuition with Spanish (all levels).

Coming from a trilingual family, I have spoken Spanish and Portuguese since childhood. I studied both languages as part of my undergraduate degree. Following a decade working in law, I returned to my language roots and qualified as a teacher, teaching Spanish for 3 years in a London secondary school. I have also tutored language students around the UK as part of a voluntary project for some 2 years now.

I am passionate about languages and the cultures in which they are spoken. As well as helping you reach the level of proficiency you’re aiming for, I hope that my sessions will inspire you to really fall in love with Spanish and want to use it further in the future!

About the lesson

Whether you're looking for formal written exam practice or a tutor to practice everyday conversational skills with, I'm ready and willing to help!

My teaching style is student-led and my lessons are designed with each person’s strengths, goals and interests in mind. If we work together, I will discuss your particular needs and learning style with you during our introductory session, which I will provide for free.

My lessons last for an hour and can be as structured or free-flowing as you prefer. I will provide any learning materials that are necessary and any additional follow-up resources that you might wish to have.

My sessions are also highly flexible. During our time together, if at any point you need to switch focus to a particular skill or topic (e.g. because you have a mock exam upcoming), I can adapt our initial introductory plan accordingly.

However you like to be taught, and whichever skills you are looking to focus on, key to all my sessions is providing an open and warm environment for you to practice and improve your language abilities. I strive to keep my lessons fun, interactive and as light-hearted as possible while always remembering my students’ goals so as to encourage their learning. I am passionate about languages and I hope you will be too!
