About RICHA

Hi, I'm Richa – a qualified science teacher, a mum of two young children, and your friendly neighborhood tutor here in Clyde North.

I hold a Master of Science in Zoology (MSc) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) , and I have over 7 years of classroom teaching experience in secondary schools. Throughout my teaching career, I've helped hundreds of students understand and love science – from general science in the early years to senior biology and chemistry.

Why I Love Teaching

For me, teaching is not just about covering the syllabus. It's about finding that moment when a child's eyes light up because they finally understand something they've been struggling with. I believe every child can succeed with the right support, patience, and encouragement.

My Approach

I break down complex topics into simple, bite-sized pieces. I use real-life examples, visual aids, and lots of positive reinforcement. My lessons are calm, structured, and tailored to each child's unique learning style. Whether your child needs help catching up, staying ahead, or preparing for exams, I create a plan that works for them.

Why I'm Different

I'm not just a tutor – I'm a trained educator and a parent. I understand the worries parents have because I share them. I know how to be patient with young learners because I am patient with my own. When your child is with me, they are in safe, capable, and caring hands.

*Subjects I Teach
· Years 1-5: All subjects – building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy
· Years 6-10: Science – Biology, Chemistry, General Science

Location & Availability

I tutor from my home in Clyde North or online via Zoom. I offer flexible sessions after school hours and on weekends to suit your family's schedule.

First Lesson
I'd love to meet your child and see how I can help. In my first lesson we can focus on their goals and build a plan together with no pressure.

About the lesson

Every child learns differently, and my lessons are designed to meet your child exactly where they are.

First Lesson – Getting to Know Your Child

In our first session I spend time understanding your child's strengths, challenges, and learning style. We'll look at their school work, identify any gaps in understanding, and set clear goals together. This is also a chance for your child to meet me and see that learning can be calm and even enjoyable.

What a Typical Lesson Looks Like

Each session is carefully planned around your child's needs:

· Warm-up (5-10 mins): We start with a quick recap of what we learned last time. This builds confidence and reinforces memory.
· Main Lesson (30-40 mins): We dive into the topic of the day. I break down difficult concepts into simple steps using:
· Real-life examples (science is everywhere!)
· Simple diagrams and visuals
· Practice questions together
· Lots of encouragement and positive feedback
· Cool Down (5-10 mins): We review what we've learned and I set a small, manageable task for the week (if helpful). I also check in with parents briefly to share progress.

My Teaching Style

I am patient, calm, and encouraging. I believe children learn best when they feel safe to ask questions—even "silly" ones. I never rush. If a concept needs explaining five different ways, I'll find that fifth way. I also celebrate every win, no matter how small, because confidence is the foundation of success.
