About Nicola
I studied Biology at Newcastle university and graduated in 2015. I then went on to complete my PGCE in science and have since been working at a secondary school in South London. I have experience working with students from year 7 to year 11.

My experience from teaching has taught me that I am an adaptable teacher who is able to change my approach depending on the students who I am teaching and their ability. I have an understanding that each student is different and will require different levels of support and teaching methodology. On getting to know the students and building a rapport I am then able to adapt my approach to suit their needs. I have high standards and ensure I check thoroughly for understanding before moving onto the next topic. I like to make my lessons enjoyable by drawing links with science and how this can be applied to the world around us. This helps students to associate what they have learnt with things that are of interest to them and will improve their understanding. When approaching exams I am a believer that practising past paper questions is an effective way for students to learn both subject content and how to prepare for there exam.
