About Elinor

I'm a qualified secondary school English teacher with a PhD in English literature. I'm also American--but don't worry, I've been here ages, and I know not to call it 'soccer'!

I've got an infectious love of the subject. In school, even kids who don't like English love my classes.

I love tutoring because I get to know learners as individuals, figuring out what works best for them. I also love the chance to give my full attention to those quiet, well-behaved students who usually get far less teacher-time than they deserve in classrooms.

About the lesson

I am a secondary school English teacher with tutoring experience in KS2 as well. Did your child struggled during lockdown? Is your year 11 worried about GCSEs? Is your year 5 stumbling over reading? I can help.

As a teacher, I help my students reach and exceed their targets. More importantly, I help them love English. Many parents tell me that, with me as their teacher, their kids have gone from hating English to loving it.
