About Briony
I am an experienced school teacher. I'm very friendly and reliable and work with children of all ages. I offer tuition in Primary English and Maths, as well as French and Italian from beginner to A-Level. I specialise in 11 plus tuition and Entrance exam preparation.
I am an examiner for GCSE Modern Languages speaking exams and principal examiner for A level Art History. I also specialise in 11+ and Independent school Entrance Exam preparation (English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning)
I have over 10 years experience of working at a range of top independent and comprehensive secondary and primary schools. I teach French, Italian, History of Art to A-Level, and Primary Maths and English. I have a PGCE in teaching Secondary Modern Languages from Bristol University and an MA in History of Art and Italian from Edinburgh University.
I also work with children with SEN both in mainstream education and alternative provision.

I tailor my sessions to the specific needs of the individual; setting objectives that are reviewed at the end of each lesson. I like to break topics down into manageable chunks to avoid a student feeling overwhelmed and to build confidence. I enjoy using a variety of activities to encourage prolonged engagement and aid learning.
