About Thomas

My name is Thomas, and I am a UK-qualified primary teacher with over 6 years of classroom experience. I have taught in both SEN and international schools, which has given me the skills to adapt my teaching to meet the needs of every learner. I am currently based in Dubai, where I teach full time and also offer private tutoring and beginner guitar lessons. As a teacher, I am passionate about helping students build confidence, independence, and a love of learning. I believe that every child — no matter their starting point — can make strong progress with the right support, encouragement, and strategies. My professionalism, patience, and structured approach mean that parents can trust their children are receiving lessons that are both engaging and effective. Whether supporting with schoolwork, exam preparation, or beginner guitar, I always focus on making lessons clear, enjoyable, and tailored to the individual. I want my students to leave every lesson not only with new knowledge or skills, but also with a sense of achievement and motivation to keep going.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to be clear, practical, and confidence-building, whether we are working on school subjects or learning guitar. I use a step-by-step approach, breaking skills into manageable chunks so students feel progress every session. For guitar, this means starting with basic chords, strumming patterns, and simple songs before gradually building towards rhythm, fluency, and playing complete pieces. For academic tutoring, I focus on explaining concepts in different ways, using visuals and examples, until they truly “click” for the learner.

Each session typically lasts one hour, but I adapt the pace depending on the student’s focus and needs. Lessons are interactive, supportive, and designed to keep students engaged — I don’t just “teach,” I encourage them to practice and apply what they learn.

I am a UK-qualified primary teacher with over 6 years’ experience in both mainstream and SEN schools, now teaching internationally in Dubai. This background means I am skilled in differentiating lessons for different ability levels, building confidence in learners who may have struggled before, and helping motivated students push further.
