About Jonny
I am a self-taught guitarist and I have been teaching young students for the past year. I taught myself through playing around and figuring things out. This gave me a very practical orientation towards the joy of playing.
I am also a qualified high school teacher, having studied English and History at the University of Cape Town. In undergrad, I also majored in Psychology. In light of this, I have a love for interacting with people and having engaging conversations.

Rather than teaching theory alone, I prefer to play through songs that we select and build up a skill base.
My teaching style is very engaged and hands-on, since I believe that teaching guitar requires a highly practical approach. I welcome failure and figuring things out as we go, creating a stress-free and fun environment in which to learn.
I would like to give an affordable option to those who would like to begin playing guitar, or for those who would like to progress.

Details
For learning guitar, nothing beats a face-to-face lesson. If you live very far away, online lessons are recommeded, otherwise arrangements can be made to meet up.
Cancellations for lessons have to be made 48 hours before the lesson is scheduled to begin, otherwise the full payable amount is required.
