About Kayla

Hi! I’m a friendly and enthusiastic qualified teacher, currently teaching Year 4. I have always enjoyed Maths and love helping others understand concepts that might initially seem difficult or confusing.

I have a degree in Primary Education with QTS and experience teaching children with a wide range of abilities and learning needs. Alongside my teaching qualification, I achieved an A in A-Level Maths, an A in Level 2 Further Maths and a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths.

Over the past few years, I’ve also supported several family members with their Maths, helping them prepare for and achieve their SATs and GCSEs. I’ve really enjoyed seeing their confidence grow and being able to help them overcome topics they initially found challenging.

I’m a patient and approachable person, and I believe that building confidence is just as important as developing mathematical skills. I also strongly believe that learning should be fun! I’ll always do my best to make lessons enjoyable, engaging and suited to the individual student, while still ensuring they are making progress and developing a strong understanding of the subject.

I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and having another go without feeling under pressure. My aim is to create a positive environment where students can build their confidence and hopefully start to enjoy Maths as much as I do!

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, colouring and spending time with family and friends. I’m really looking forward to helping students develop their Maths skills and, most importantly, feel more confident in themselves.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m a qualified teacher with a degree in Primary Education with QTS, currently working as a Year 4 teacher. I’m passionate about helping children and young people develop their mathematical understanding, confidence and problem-solving skills.

I offer personalised Maths tuition from primary level through to GCSE, with lessons adapted to each student’s individual needs, ability and goals.

I have a strong academic background in Maths, achieving a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths, an A in Level 2 Further Maths and an A in A-Level Maths, alongside my professional teaching qualification and classroom experience.

Whether a student is struggling with a particular topic, needs support to catch up with their class, wants to consolidate their understanding or is preparing for exams, I can tailor lessons to help them make progress.

I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not simply to help students get the correct answer, but to help them understand the maths behind it and feel confident tackling problems independently.

I’m happy to discuss a student’s individual needs before lessons begin so that tuition can be tailored to them.
