About Máté

Teaching
Máté has been teaching since 2019 and offers lessons across London as well as online. He is DBS checked and registered with the Update Service, and has worked on educational projects with students from leading schools and organisations including Marlborough College, Harrow School, Haileybury and Imperial Service College, St Thomas’ School, Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, Bromley Youth Music Trust, Peterborough Music Hub and In Harmony Lambeth. Máté recently led his first horn masterclass at the University of Debrecen in Hungary.

A year ago I lived in a house share with a violinist who played in an orchestra with Máté. I was looking to learn French Horn to add a skill to my resume (I’m an actor) and so she connected us for lessons. He is patient and kind and really works with you to find out the best way for you to learn. I was really nervous going into lessons with no prior experience reading music, but this was not a problem for him and he taught me all I need to know. Lessons were incredible, fun, and taught me so much. I recommend Máté 150%!

Details

Fees: The standard fee for a 60-minute lesson is £60.

Online lessons: If we meet online (Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, etc.), please make sure you're connected to a strong and fast WiFi, and that you're in a quiet and private space.

Cancellations: After an appointment is made, unless I get 24 hours notice that you won’t make it, you are responsible for the full fee. The cause of missing a lesson has no consequences, this policy is not punitive… it is there to cushion me from the vicissitudes of your life.
