About Erandika

I am a recent Aeronautical Engineering Graduate from Loughborough University. I gained a second upper higher class (2:1) for my degree.

At a personal level, coming from Sri Lanka to Loughborough University, I have had to face the challenges of living in a completely different environment. This experience has made me persevere and confront each new hurdle head on. Additionally, by mingling with students in a multi-national setting, I have heightened my cultural awareness and the ability to work with people who may approach life differently. Moreover, being dyslexic and dyspraxic has led me to be an innovative and lateral thinker, excellent at troubleshooting, spotting the positives in negatives, good at communicating and practical tasks, and determined and persistent towards life.

on the educational side of things, at Loughborough Uni, I have been involved in numerous group and individual projects. The projects require a high-level understanding of engineering softwares, including CAD, MATLAB and CFD, pushing me to improve my technical skills. Additionally, my team work, presentation skills and communication skills have all improved by being actively involved in the said projects, as well as being an active committee member of National Hindu Society Forum (NHSF) and a volunteer in Loughborough Students Union. Participating in the aforementioned extra-curricular activities while pursuing my degree have also taught me time management and the ability to priorities work and maintain equilibrium between the different roles I have undertaken.
I studied Maths in School for IGCSE and GCE AL and in University. I also did Further Maths with Mechanics in for GCE AL and gained good grades in Maths. even though I have learning disabilities I still managed to gain good grades with hard work and new learning techniques I developed to pass the hurdle of learning disability. I could help new student with those techniques and promote this techniques among student.
