I mostly follow the European didactic algebra-based approach. It gives peace of mind and confidence to the students, because they quickly discover that following an appropriate efficient algorithmized procedure is guaranteed to lead them to the correct answer. I strive to be a friendly and approachable tutor; students are welcome to contact me by e-mail or text to ask questions outside of the tutoring sessions.
Based on my observations, many Canadian high schoolers benefit from even a few proper, naturally beautiful explanations. The same is true about the undergraduate university students, who often struggle to close the gap between incomplete, endemic high school programs and internationally competitive university courses.
I tutor remotely via Zoom, helping students with math (mostly pre-calculus and calculus), physics, including the AP programs, and preparation for the following tests:
β’ PSAT/NMSQT Mathematics;
β’ SAT Mathematics;
β’ MCAT Physics;
β’ GRE Physics.
I have been doing group and individual tutoring in Canada since Fall 2015 (3 years in Alberta and two years in BC). My last academic degree is a PhD in Physics, awarded by the University of Alberta in 2016.
