About Matthew
I am a recent graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; I graduated with a B.S. in Physics and a B.A. in Mathematics. I have a true passion for teaching, as I would like to inspire others with the same love for math/physics that I have. I understand what it is like coming to somebody for help, as I found myself struggling as I first began my journey in math/physics. While it may seem hard at times, working through problems, especially with others, is the best way to grow as a math/physics student.
As for my personal life, I enjoy playing PC games (Deadlock is a current obsession of mine), watching/playing basketball, and cooking new foods.

I truly enjoy math and physics, and I want to help others find the same joy that I do. Given my background in math and physics, I will be able to help with any math/physics work from elementary school up to upper level undergraduate courses. I have been tutored by many friends, so I am very familiar with how to approach problems from various angles to make sure the concept is known.
A typical lesson plan can look like this:
- Personalized problem is introduced to the student
- Collaborate with student in solving the problem, including thought processes and suggestions
- Talk about the problem and what are the implications of the problem as they relate to other problems (i.e. physical problems, engineering, etc.)
- Send off with suggested reading/investigation
