About Latonya
Training in the French tradition helped me refine a delicate approach to the violin that I have shared with students for 12 years. Because I specialize in helping adults restart their musical path, I understand the specific hesitation felt by those who stepped away from the instrument for a long time. My teaching style remains intentionally unhurried and structured to ensure that technique is built correctly. It is a true pleasure to see a former player regain their confidence and rediscover why they played in the first place.

Instruction begins with a simple assessment of where your hands currently sit on the neck. Since I hold a BMus in Violin, I bring a deep understanding of tone production, intonation, and ear training to every single meeting.
We will work steadily on left hand agility, orchestral playing, and classical repertoire while keeping your rhythm and timing sharp. It is worth noting that 8.0 is the specific level of technical clarity I aim for in every session.
Scales and arpeggios are incorporated into the flow of the hour to solidify your foundations properly. You will find that returning to the violin is much easier than you ever imagined. Clear progress is the only outcome I expect.
