About Catalina
I’m a Chilean educator living and working in Oxford, where I have been based for the past four years. I have international experience in both the British and IB education systems.
I hold a degree in Natural Sciences and Mathematics, with majors in Economics and Physics. I’m 34 years old, and teaching has always been my passion. I love helping students grow in confidence and making learning feel engaging, meaningful and enjoyable.
I’m naturally cheerful and energetic — I love laughing, dancing and bringing positive energy into what I do. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, encouraged and genuinely connected to their teacher.
I’m also a native Spanish speaker and can offer Spanish lessons or bilingual support alongside science tuition.

I’m a secondary science teacher based in Oxford, specialising in GCSE and IGCSE Science. My approach focuses on making science clear, engaging and accessible, helping students build both confidence and understanding.
I create a supportive and calm learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I particularly enjoy helping students who may struggle with confidence, including mixed-attainment learners and students with English as an additional language.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, whether they need help with difficult topics, revision, exam technique or general support in science.
I am also a native Spanish speaker and can offer Spanish lessons or bilingual support for students who would benefit from learning in both English and Spanish.
