About Zarek
I’m a student just like you, and I love helping others break through challenging concepts—especially the ones people say are “too complicated”. Making tough concepts “click” is one of my favorite things to do. A few things about me: -I graduated high school with perfect grades while staying involved in extracurricular activities in athletics and music -I earned a 5 on the AP Chem Exam, the highest score possible. -During my first year at university I maintained a 4.0 GPA while competing as a Division I athlete and taking courses in calculus and chemical engineering -I’ve been personally requested by the physics, engineering, math, chemistry, and economic departments to work as a teaching assistant. -I’m a great listener. Our sessions will be collaborative—not just me lecturing, but us working through the problems together. -Parlez-vous Français? Je peux donner des cours entièrement en français si vous en avez besoin. I’m here to support your success. Let’s make learning something you can enjoy and feel confident about.

It’s hard to learn when you don’t want to! As a student myself, I understand the pressure to study what feels like “useless” information just to pass a test and forget it a week later. But that’s not how real learning happens. My goal is to make math and chemistry intuitive, engaging, and relevant—and to teach at a pace that works for you. What a typical lesson with me looks like: -Lesson Goal: We’ll set a clear goal together at the start of the session—something that stretches your understanding but feels within reach. -Curious Questions: We’ll break down the big idea into the questions that matter to you. How does it work? Why do we use it? Where did it come from? Asking and answering your own questions makes the concept stick. -Grasping Concepts: As we explore the answers and check your understanding, you’ll start to feel the pieces click. That’s when real and enjoyable learning begins. I tutor all levels of K-12 math, up through calculus and introductory chemistry. I believe it’s never too early to explore so-called “difficult” concepts—as long as the lesson is tailored to the student's learning style.
