About Kya
I have been learning piano for over 10 years. I achieved a 90 on the grade 1 Conservatory examination. I worked towards both grade 5, and grade 8 Conservatory, but chose to focus more on my own songs and performance abilities. At 17, I took the grade 8 Conservatory theory component and achieved a 98. I also play the clarinet, which I had taken lessons for 3 years, and played in a community concert band. I love to write and arrange music, and despite access to a piano being limited while in university, I try my best to keep up with music as often as I can!

I used to be self taught for years before starting lessons. I worked with many teachers and learned many different ways to teach people of different levels. Some students love theory and technique, while many others don't. I can teach many ways, whether it's implementing the theory seamlessly into the playing, or teaching more directly
