I will focus on building the numeracy and literacy of my students to allow them to access the curriculum.
My lessons will be relevant and engaging to students using real life use cases of the concepts in their curriculum.
Applying maths and science practically is what I have been trained in my Bachelors of Engineering. This allows me to go deep with the students on ‘why are we learning this’.
I have experience teaching both AQA and Edexcel exam boards in science and can support my lessons with bespoke resources with access to resources of a working classroom teacher.

Before the lesson, the student will inform me of their specific area of need. If not, I will provide a generic diagnostic test.
I will prepare a short diagnostic starter on the specific need (if given).
I will mark the starter and give feedback.
I will model a problem, answering any clarifying questions.
We will model a problem together, naming the steps.
Then, the student will work independently, and I will identify any misconceptions in their schema.
I will intervene when necessary to increase challenge or provide extra support.
