About Rose

I’m a graduate from Loughborough University with a 2:1 in Drama and English. I have a GCSE in Expressive Arts and an A-Level in Theatre Studies, having done extra curricular drama clubs from 10 years old. From the age of 13 I’ve been planning and doing my own makeup for every performance I’ve been in. I have a personal passion for makeup (particularly glam) and also regularly research and experiment with face paint and SFX. I completed an informal face painting course when I was 10 and have done face painting at school fair stands since. From 18 years old I’ve regularly done makeup for friends for both nights out and Halloween, and I’m looking to share what I’ve learned from years of proactive learning and practice.

About the lesson

Given the versatility of makeup and the fact that I prefer one on one teaching, my first step is to understand the goals of the student and what level of skill they’re starting on. I will then break down my lessons by makeup stages, eg. contouring, eye makeup, properly setting makeup etc.
From subject to subject a constant focus would be technique, with an emphasis on encouraging the student to use correct techniques to experiment with new looks without having to invest too much in specific products.
