About Una
I have a PhD in Renaissance Studies and have 14 years' experience teaching English, Literature, and History at the university level, at the Universities of Melbourne, Sydney, Kent, and Queen Mary University of London. I have always loved Literature and History, and am a specialist in Shakespeare and Renaissance Literature. I'm also a stickler for beautiful written expression, so I can help you with grammar even if you don't know the first thing about it! My classes are relaxed and friendly, and we work on exactly the areas you need help with.

I teach English Language and Literature at secondary level including VCE and undergrad and postgrad. I assess each student to work out where they need the most help, usually helping students in the areas of essay construction and writing, grammar, and written expression. I am well versed in the VCE curriculum, and for English can help students with analytical interpretation, comparative analysis, and how to construct a persuasive argument. I can also help undergraduates with conventions of essay writing with which they may be unfamiliar, such as research, footnoting, and bibliographies. I'm very experienced, patient and friendly with students of all abilities - I want you to enjoy these subjects as much as I do! Lessons are typically one hour.
