As an academic and a teaching scholar, I am committed to the intrinsic value of post-secondary education and scholarship. My teaching and research are inspired by the hermeneutic tradition and grounded in Boyer’s model of the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).
In the first meeting I will learn about your learning style and how to best communicate with you. Some students prefer visuals, others prefer step by step systems created for them in this case research and thought organization. Others like templates to follow and others just prefer to understand how to do it now and how to approach similar problems in the future.
My editing and proof reading is primarily designed for graduate students although I do consider undergraduate students as well. My editing methodology consists of: checking for spelling errors; checking for grammar mistakes; looking for strong introductions and conclusions which state the hypothesis and how it is to be developed; good flow and logical development of the argument; strong structure.
My methods vary depending on the subject as well as the individual student's level and needs. I am very patient and am a skilled communicator. My aim is always to ensure that a student has a strong grasp on the material by encouraging creative and critical thinking. My teaching philosophy is that we tend to learn by doing rather than simply listening.
I prefer to work closely, one-on-one, with each student. If you have a text you are working on (a class assignment, an important letter, a thesis or dissertation, a book manuscript...) we can work on that - you can send me material and I can discuss with you how to improve what you have written.
My teaching is student-based: tell me what you need help with, and we'll work together to get there. I like theOxford tutoring model: you submit written work and we discuss. I offer pointers on research and methodology, style, planning and organization, and anything else that you need to succeed.
The session is two hours long, once or twice a week. Readings are done by the student prior to meeting. We go over the meaning of the readings and prepare the outline of an essay, or cover what the student needs to know for an exam.
I could help high school or university students to review their assignments, help them with grammar or help them to structure an academic paper with a thesis. I recommend you to choose me if English is your second language and you want to improve it.
My teaching methodology is individualized according to the student's needs. I am always patient, kind and positive in my interactions with students. I give lessons in how to write essays and edit essays that students have already written. I can also guide students in the process of writing the first draft of their paper.
My methodology ranges from attentive tutoring on writing strategies and client needs to expedient proofreading. I believe that I can provide perspective on institutional and discipline oriented writing advice, grammatical accuracy and clear explanations, while also attending to the knowledge needs of students.
My classes are based on communicative approaches in language learning. This engages my students actively in their learning process.

I take my time assessing what the student most needs help with and how they want to use their time with me. Depending on the individual needs of the student, I tailor my lessons to cover anything from grammar to organization, structure or expression.
I enjoy scientific writing and editing and am happy to provide an objective eye for clarity, readability and formatting. I like to start by getting a brief synopsis of the work directly from you to ensure that your ideas and findings come across as you have intended.
I tailor my teaching to each student, and cover methodology as well as writing. A typical student has an idea about their dissertation, thesis or paper, and I assist in critical review first. We then proceed to research and outline, then to editing as needed. This professor is mostly available for graduate students in social sciences (PoliSci, Sociology, Education, Communication...
I am very passionate and excited to share my knowledge and to get students equally excited about the lesson being taught. I am committed to my purpose in life - to teach! I use social media, real life examples and stories as well as discussions and in-class collaboration among other teaching techniques. But my most important teaching tool is my ultra-preparation for ALL of my classes.
I adapt my methods to each student. It is important to me that students are interested in what we are learning, so I make sure to help them choose essay topics that engage them, and to help them find a drafting, writing and editing workflow that suits them. At the same time, I work closely with their assignment requirements and subject content.
I base my lessons on your needs. I think that to truly improve, students need support both in an out of the classroom. If you are motivated, I will help you with reading and writing homework to be completed outside of our class time. If you are a serious student, I will help you to succeed.
The method I use in teaching is determined very largely by certain givens such as the learning styles of my students and their needs and wants. I do not impose in methodology under whatever conditions. Of course there is a technique which I prefer over others: "the flipped classroom". I really like for my students to take the lead and discover new things on their own.
