About Kelsey

Hi, I’m Kelsey! I’m a business, career, and marketing professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing and 7 years of experience working in recruiting, where I regularly reviewed, evaluated, and edited resumes for candidates at different stages of their careers.

Over the years, I’ve developed a strong understanding of what makes a resume stand out, what hiring managers look for, and the common mistakes that can cause a qualified candidate to be overlooked. I combine that recruiting experience with my background in business and marketing to help students present their experience in a clear, professional, and compelling way.

Whether you’re creating your first resume, applying for an internship, graduating from college, changing careers, or preparing for your next professional opportunity, I’ll meet you where you are and help you build a resume you feel confident submitting.

My goal is to make resume writing feel less overwhelming and more approachable. I take the time to understand your goals, explain my recommendations, and teach you the skills you can continue using throughout your career.

About the lesson

My approach is practical, personalized, and focused on helping you feel confident in your job search. With 7 years of experience as a senior recruiter reviewing, editing, and evaluating resumes, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing, I understand what employers and hiring teams look for in a strong resume.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all resume. I teach students how to present their experience, education, skills, and accomplishments in a way that is clear, professional, and relevant to the roles they want.

My Teaching Method
I break resume writing into simple, manageable steps and explain not only what to change, but why the change matters. We’ll work together through examples, hands-on editing, and personalized feedback. I can help with everything from structuring and formatting a resume to writing stronger bullet points, identifying transferable skills, highlighting accomplishments, and tailoring a resume to a specific position.

What a Typical Lesson Looks Like:
We’ll start by discussing your career goals, target positions, education, and experience. From there, we’ll review your current resume or build one from the ground up. I’ll identify opportunities for improvement and walk you through the reasoning behind each recommendation. We’ll then make edits together and create a clear action plan for continuing to improve your resume and job application materials.

What Sets Me Apart:
My biggest advantage is that I bring the perspective of someone who has actually been on the hiring side. After 7 years of reviewing and editing resumes as a senior recruiter, I know the common mistakes that cause resumes to get overlooked and the qualities that make a candidate’s experience easier for employers to recognize.
I also bring a background in business management and marketing, which allows me to teach students how to think of their resume as a personal marketing tool—not simply a list of jobs they've held.
