About Frankie

I am a four-year senior at Phillips Exeter Academy, a boarding school in Exeter, New Hampshire. At the academy, I have been exposed to a plethora of rigorous advanced courses that have allowed my comprehension and understanding of the courses to excel. In addition, I have experience working with primarily young high school students, grades 9 and 10, and middle school students grades 6-8. In addition, I have taught even younger students the youngest being 4th grade. Phillps Exeter Academy's harkness approach to learning in which classes are structured around a round table with student-based discussion learning, has allowed me to synthesize coursework in more efficient ways and has also allowed me to comprehend subjects in a step-by-step way giving the student enough help to propel his learning but not too much as to where he is just memorizing ideas. Exeter's Harkness learning has also greatly improved my discussion skills in the classroom something I have been able to translate to my students who have been struggling with participation or discussions in class. My approach to teaching is hands-on as I believe it is integral that the student is guided through their subjects while also giving them space to make mistakes and absorb the material.

About the lesson

My four years at Phillips Exeter Academy and my experience with tutoring have allowed me to gain knowledge on how to translate knowledge in a comprehensible way to students. Exeter's unique approach in "Harkness" which is a discussion-based school, has allowed my public speaking and discussion skills to blossom allowing me to teach my students these unique tricks primarily in humanity classes.

Math Experience - Currently taking calculus at a college level in my senior year. Proficient in Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calc, and Calculus.

French - Have studied the language and its culture for the last eight years. Proficient in reading, speaking, writing, oral comprehension, grammar, and francophone culture.

English - Studied the English language and its counterparts all four years at Exeter. Proficient in narrative papers, analytical papers, exploratory papers, and creative papers. Also proficient in grammar, writing structure, and vocabulary.

Sciences - Have taken all three major sciences at AP or college level. Proficient in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Ecology, and Evolution.
