About Asha

I am a Manchester born-and-bred Linguistics graduate with a passion for learning, I believe there are always opportunities to learn something new and I always find that different students have something to teach me as well!
I love languages, English language and linguistics, writing essays, verbal reasoning and music (I play piano, violin, guitar and ukulele, I also sing and write and release songs). I have benefitted from many great teachers in my life and am thrilled to have the opportunity to pass on some of their knowledge.

About the lesson

I love students who are willing to give it a try and get it wrong - that's the best way to learn and improve. I will push you but only as much as you're willing to work. Lesson can be any length from 30 mins to 1.5 hours, depending on what works for you - you know how your concentration and attention span are!
I am happy to take the lead from you (i.e. help you with your scales, pieces, a song you'd love to be able to play or learning to read music) or I can suggest a syllabus/piece and go from there. I can help you if you have never read music before or if you know the notes but are just struggling to get your brain and body to work together - I have been there many times before!
I can teach anyone from age 5 to 18 - I have experience with all ages and different strategies for learners of different ages. I have a full enhanced DBS, experience with children with SEN and have even taught piano lessons in Spanish as well as teaching classes of adults.
