About Yvonne

I'm a Social Work Team Manager with over 10 years of experience working in adult social care. I have experience in learning disabilities, mental health, dementia, and older people, with particular expertise in mental capacity and safeguarding practice.

I am passionate about sharing my experience with upcoming social workers and health and social care students. I offer interactive, tailored sessions where you feel involved, valued, and supported, helping you build confidence in both academic work and professional practice.

About the lesson

I use a friendly, student-centred approach to support undergraduates and postgraduates in social work and health and social care studies.

I can assist with supervision, practice issues, and developing a deeper understanding of key subjects. Lessons are tailored to individual needs, with an initial discussion to identify specific areas for support.

I have frontline experience in Care Act Assessment, complex safeguarding, Mental Capacity Assessments, and Section 21A challenges. I also support students and practitioners with Job Applications, interview preparation, and offer mock interviews to build confidence.

Whether you need help with essay structure, critical reflection, practice issues, case studies, or understanding practical challenges in adult social care, I provide practical, interactive support grounded in frontline experience.

My sessions include:
Open discussions and information sharing
Signposting to additional reading materials
Promoting reflective practice and critical thinking
Follow-up classes to review reflection and learning
