About Ayesha

I am a qualified and registered Social Worker with around 15 years of experience working with children and families across a range of frontline social work settings.

Alongside my frontline practice, I am a qualified Practice Educator and regularly teach, support and assess social work students during their placements. One of the things I enjoy most is helping students bridge the gap between what they learn at university and what social work actually looks and feels like in practice.

Over the years, I have worked across Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, safeguarding, court proceedings, assessments and complex family work. This means I can bring real practice knowledge and experience into my teaching rather than relying solely on textbooks.

I remember what it is like to be a student and to enter frontline practice for the first time. There is a lot that university can prepare you for – but there are also many practical skills that you develop through experience.

My aim is to share some of that experience with you.

I am approachable, down-to-earth and passionate about developing confident social workers who can think critically, communicate effectively and understand the reasoning behind their practice.

Whether you are a social work student, preparing for placement, approaching qualification or an NQSW finding your feet, I can help you develop the confidence and practical skills to navigate real-life social work.

About the lesson

I am an experienced Social Worker and Practice Educator with around 15 years of frontline experience. I regularly support and teach social work students, helping them develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to become effective practitioners.

My lessons go beyond the textbook. I teach you real-life social work skills.**

We can work on how to complete strong assessments, analyse risk, make professional decisions, prepare for difficult conversations, work with families, understand safeguarding processes, write professionally, apply theory to practice and confidently explain the rationale behind your decisions.

I can support you with:

As a Practice Educator, I understand the difference between knowing social work theory and being able to demonstrate that knowledge in practice. I will challenge your thinking, work through realistic scenarios with you and help you develop the professional curiosity, analysis and confidence expected of a social worker.

Whether you are a student preparing for your first placement, approaching your final placement, completing an assignment or a newly qualified social worker finding your feet, lessons will be tailored to what you need.

My teaching style is relaxed, practical and reflective. I want you to leave each lesson not only knowing *what* a social worker should do, but understanding **why they are doing it and how to actually do it in practice.**
