About Alastair
I have a Computer Science degree (2:1 Hons). I have been a software developer since 1998 and currently run a software business called Productivity Systems Ltd. I have been a secondary school Computer Science teacher since 2004 and currently a Lead Practitioner and Head of Department. I teach Computer Science to students between Year 5 and Year 13.

Regular recap and revision of topics is important for embedding theory. Last minute cramming is not effective. Coding is best taught by copying code, modifying it and then applying the new skill. I have developed a set of rules that enables students to write maintainable and readable code which is key to reach the top grade levels.
