About Adam

I’m Adam, a software developer living in Goolwa Beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula. I’ve worked in software since 2019 — at game studios, on VR and 3D collaboration tools, on websites, and most recently building internal tools and a VR reading app. Closer to home, I built the interactive ocean exhibit at the Victor Harbor Whale Centre.

I studied Design for Games (First Class Honors) and then an MSc in Computer Science at the University of Sussex.

Teaching has always been part of what I enjoy most. I’ve mentored junior developers, worked as a technical writer explaining software to other people, and taught at children’s coding camps. I’m now working towards becoming a primary school teacher, and tutoring is a way to do more of the part of my work I like best: helping someone go from “I can’t do this” to building something of their own.

Every lesson is built around a project you actually want to make, so the ideas stick because you need them — a game, a website, or something for school.

With younger kids, we start with the basic ideas behind coding through games, puzzles and simple projects, at whatever pace suits them. Teens can move on to making games in Unity and C#, or building websites with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I also help with high school Digital Technologies projects, explaining the work rather than doing it for them. For older students and adults, I teach how developers really work: version control with git, testing, publishing a project, and using AI coding tools properly.

I’ve worked as a software developer since 2019, across websites, games, VR and AI tools, and I built the interactive exhibit at the Victor Harbor Whale Centre. I’ve taught at children’s coding camps for ages 4 to 14 and given programming tutoring to adults.

Lessons are one hour, one to one, in person around Goolwa and Victor Harbor or online. I hold a current South Australian Working with Children Check.
