I'm self taught, and only learnt the basics of computer programming in University back in France, teaching myself some more advanced concepts in my spare time, and then learning most of what I know due to professional experience. I've always learnt most of what I learn through metaphors and analogies. This is the way I learn best, and also the way I teach best, when I do need to teach.
