About Amy

I have several years' experience in teaching.
Firstly, I worked as a French Tutor at a local college in Birmingham, where I taught a beginner's French class. I really enjoyed it as I love to captivate people's interest and teach them something brand new. I taught them useful and simple vocabulary that got them to an A1 level.

Secondly, I worked in Toulouse for 6 months as an English Tutor for a French Airline. Here, I taught English for professionals to around 50 different students, most of whom were already at a B2 level. I taught vocabulary, advanced grammar and pronunciation. My students all passed their exams by the time I left and felt a lot more confidence which gave me an immense sense of pride!

About the lesson

I teach a through variety of different methods as I believe it's important to gain as many language skills as possible, all whilst learning about culture. Activities are based through a variety of written, read, listening and speaking exercises, all of which are based around useful topics. Most importantly, I focus my lessons around what the student wants to learn, whether they be studying for a GCSE, A Level, or their first year of university.

Since I am a native English speaker myself, I know how difficult it can be to learn a new language, so I am very patient and happy to explain as much as needed! I love teaching and I find it a really satisfying job when I see my students achieving their goals that they work so hard for. I really enjoy motivating people and I love to be able to share my passion for languages with someone who wants to learn.
