About Ben
I began intensely studying the Spanish language after a study abroad in Cuba in the summer of 2016. Since then I have continued studying independently.
I have taught classes of ESL students in Florida entirely in Spanish and in "Spanglish", depending on their proficiency.
While I wouldn't consider myself fully fluent, I am fluent enough to work effectively with beginners!

My teaching methodology is always individualized to the student I am working with. Generally, I focus on creating meaningful connections between the content material and the student's life, interests, and prior knowledge. For example, a student who is particularly interested in video games will be presented with examples involving video games.
I also believe that learning should be fun and will strive to create a balance between education and entertainment. If a student struggles with learning/remembering vocab, they would be presented with a variety of games and activities to capture and hold their attention while teaching them the words.
